My husband and I live on Mount Macedon Road at the start of the event. We have always liked the idea of people coming to see the Autumn Leaves until this year.
1. Our driveway was continually blocked for us to use the driveway by Council witches hats. Also a sign saying end of event, so people followed us in the driveway.
2. Our nature strip was used for parking to full extent. Up to 40 to 50 cars parked on the nature strip.
3. The nature strip has been left with deep tyre tracks and will be unable to maintain during the winter months. The nature strip will require repairing once the grounds have firmed up. Our ride on mowers will not cope. with the damage.
4. Rubbish was continually left on the fence and nature strip e.g. dirty nappies; drink containers and even dumped their rubbish inside the property.
5. Many times people would access our property, walking around the gardens and house.
6. People were asked to leave many times but were ignorant.
7. Our Entrance stonework was used for people to climb to take photos.
8. Speed limits for the entire length of Mount Macedon Road for such a long period when only needed weekends.
9. During this period, the roads were again closed or partly closed for tree lopping. Surely this is a major OH&S with foreigners in the area, not only a hinderance to locals. Leaving the area a mess instead of beautifying the area. There are still cut branches on our nature strip and have been there all this period.
10. Organisation in this area was very poor this year.
I wonder why the church land was not used for parking.
